A sanctuary for life. The Seychelles feature a myriad of rare endemic plants and animals, including species of birdlife found nowhere else on earth. The islands also boast the highest degree of amphibian endemism of any island group in the world and hold the record for the largest plant seed, the Coco de Mer.

Since its early history, the Seychelles have taken all steps necessary to protect the integrity of their natural legacy for future generations. Far-sighted conservation laws have done much to keep each island’s sensitive ecosystem in its pristine state. Today, 50% of island landmass has been set aside as protected reserve.
